Decommissioning Stage III (2017–2020)

• The remaining smaller facilities of the original production compounds from the transportation-technological part, with insignificant contamination

• The remaining facilities of auxiliary systems for the management of D₂O and CO₂

• The remaining fuel transportation facilities

• Facilities for the preparation of manipulable and nonmanipulable fuel for transport

Decommissioning Stage IV (2021–2024)

• Primary circuit facilities: The primary circuit pipes, section armatures, turbo compressors

• The high-pressure gas tank and other higher contamination equipment

Decommissioning Stage V (2025–2033)

• Short-term pool storage, manipulation and storage tanks and the dried sludge under the tanks

• Long-term storage

• Steam generators with accessories

• Reactor and other equipment in the reactor vault

• Removal of the activated part of the reactor vault

The final goal of the decommissioning of the A1 NPP is the processing of all radioactive waste from its operation as well as of the waste from the decommissioning, its definitive safe deposition, the decommissioning of non-operational equipment and parts of structures. Structures which may be used for housing waste processing technologies will be reconstructed and will become parts of a new nuclear compound — The Technology for the Processing and Treatment of Radioactive Waste.
