Ing. Miroslav Božik, PhD. is the Member of the Board of Directors and Director of the A1 Decommissioning and Radioactive Waste and Spent Nuclear Fuel Management Division at the JAVYS, a. s. Company, Bratislava.

He was born in 1954 in Šúrovce. He studied at Slovak University of Technology (STU) in Bratislava, the programme Automation in Industry. He continued with the postgraduate studies at Department of Nuclear Physics and Technology of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, which he completed in the field of study Safety aspects of the nuclear facilities operation. He completed his doctoral studies at STU Bratislava by dissertation thesis in the field of automation.

Since the beginning of employment he constantly works in the field of nuclear energy while during his professional experience, he changed several operational and managing positions within nuclear power plants A1, V1 and V2. In 1973 he started to work in the A1 NPP shift operation as heating engineer, later during the period of 1976 to 1984 he was operational technician of the V1 NPP primary part, while participating in commissioning of primary part operation of both reactor units of the power plant.

Since 1984 to 1996 he performed operational managing positions in the field of management of the fresh and spent nuclear fuel in V1 and V2 nuclear power plants focused on implementation of transports of fresh and spent nuclear fuel and direct management of activities during refuelling in reactors of both nuclear power plants. From 1996 to 2006 he was in a position of the Head of VVER fuel department, later the Head of department of special operations and department of spent nuclear fuel management. In 2006 he worked as a Director of the department of assets administration and later on, as a Director of the A1 NPP Decommissioning Division.

He continues in his post of Director of Division since 2008 and he covers the decommissioning of the A1 nuclear power plant as well as operation of nuclear facilities of Interim Spent Fuel Storage, Technologies of RAW Treatment and Conditioning and National Radwaste Repository in Jaslovské Bohunice and Mochovce. He is a holder of licence for acquaintance with classified information to security level „SECRET“, issued by National Security Authority of the SR pursuant to the Act No. 215/2004 Coll. and he is a member of the scientific council at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University in Košice.
