JUDr. Vladimír Švigár is Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Head of Finance and Services Division of JAVYS, a. s. company. He was born in 1968 in Košice. He graduated from Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Law, where he studied Law, majoring in International Law - International Relations. After completing his studies, which also included the field of economics and foreign trade, he worked in several job positions in the business section of Východoslovenské železiarne (VSŽ Export, s.r.o., VSŽ ZOS, s.r.o. and VSŽ, a.s.) in Košice.

From 1996 to 1998 he worked as a CEO of VSŽ EXPORT - IMPORT s. r. o., which was the exclusive buyer of all input raw materials for metallurgical production and the exclusive seller of a complete range of metallurgical products. He was responsible for the management of foreign trade of all foreign affiliates and companies with VŠŽ equity participation in Central and Western Europe. In 1997 he participated in creation of the joint venture VSŽ, a.s. and USS/Slovakia, LLC (Pittsburgh, United States of America), which was subsequently established in January 1998 with the aim of increasing the quality and production and building of new capacities for processing of tinplate. In company VSŽ U.S. STEEL, s.r.o. he worked as a Commercial Director.

In 1999 he worked as a specialist for management of engineering companies belonging to the portfolio of VSŽ, a.s. and in 2000 (with 49% stake) he was a co-founder of the new joint stock company V.O.D.S., a.s. In the beginning, the company dealt, in particular, with processing and secondary utilization of metal waste and electrical waste, and later expanded its activities also to other areas of waste management, not only in Slovakia but also in the surrounding countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, and Poland). Between 2005 and 2007, company V.O.D.S., a.s., as a provider of complex services in waste management, built one of the largest plants of its kind in Slovakia and Central Europe in the Industrial Park Kechnec near Košice, dealing with processing and recycling of worn tyres. Company V.O.D.S., a.s. provided all professional services in this sector.

In 2007 company AVE Energie AG Oberosterreich Umwelt GmbH (AVE CEE Holding GmbH), based in Austria, joined V.O.D.S., a.s. as a shareholder. This company is a provider of complex waste management services in Central and Eastern Europe. Activities of AVE Energie were mainly focused on the technological change of the transition from landfilling to the energy use of waste through incinerators. The company is a member of the AVE Group, established by Energie AG. In 2012, its turnover reached about 430 million Euros for the processing of 5 million tonnes of waste. Between 2007 and 2011 Mr. Švigár was a member of the Board of Directors and subsequently until 2012 a member of the Supervisory Board. After working in this company, he dedicated his time working on a project of building a hotel in Košice, where he is a 50% shareholder.
