DescriptionObjectives: to provide adequate capacity of disposal facilities for VLLW and LLW originated from V1 NPP radioactive wastes decommissioning by erecting two independent disposal facilities, one for LLW and the other for VLLW. These facilities shall meet all safety and environmental requirements in compliance with the valid legislation of the Slovak Republic and the European Union.
The main independent facilities (dedicated for V1 NPP) to be provided within the C9.4 project scope are:
• VLLW disposal facility, stage II (enlargement of new VLLW repository) and
• LLW facility (so called the “Third Double Row” for conditioned RAW in FCC containers);
with the complementary, Auxiliary facilities and equipment, that are:
• LLW Steel Hall
• VLLW Handling Building
• Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, I&C proper systems and facilities
• Connections and supplements to the existing facilities and utility systems like water, drain, rainwater network, trenches, inspection tank, internal roads, external lighting
• Handling and manipulation means
Summary of the scope consist of design documentation, licensing process, erection, tests and commissioning for:
Third double row LLW disposal facility:
• engineering-geological survey
• project for building permission,
• Safety report,
• Detail Design,
• excavation of area for waste disposal,
• provision of clay of the required attributes for erection of clay sealing
• erection of clay layers,
• erection of reinforced concrete vaults at clay underlayer,
• system of leakage and infiltration inspections including tunnels monitoring,
• network for rain water collection,
• liquidation of monitoring drill holes, erection of new system of drill holes monitoring
• erection of the hall (demountable hall),
• erection of auxiliary equipment (crane, unloading area, etc.)
• LAN infrastructure, telecommunication infrastructure and equipment
• commissioning,
• licensing process management
VLLW Stage II disposal facility:
• Detail Design,
• excavation of area for waste disposal
• provision of clay of the required attributes for erection of clay sealing
• erection of clay layers
• erection of engineering barriers
• network for capture of blowdowns, leakages and rain water including intercepting tanks and control system monitoring
• network for rainwater collection
• erection of system of drill holes monitoring
• erection of the facilities for the translation of the roof from Stage I to Stage II
• erection of auxiliary building with systems installations
• LAN infrastructure, telecommunication infrastructure and equipment
