Description

Objectives:

to prepare reactor building, auxiliary building and, if necessary, also other civil buildings or external areas for dismantling of systems and equipment and its consequent decontamination and demolition. These modifications allow minimizing the time demanding of later implemented decommissioning works, minimizing collective doses, providing continuance of material flow from decommissioning and increasing the capacity of transport routes.

The modifications and newly installed systems will enable:

• Provision of operation and functionality of systems and civil buildings necessary to operate during decommissioning respectively remaining in operation during decommissioning
• Enabling of systems and primary circuit components dismantling
• Implementation of the pre-decontamination and demolition of civil buildings
• Reduction of radiation exposure in the controlled area for staff (ALARA).
• Securing of organised gaseous and liquid discharges system pursuant to legislation
• Decrease of possible secondary contamination of internal surfaces of buildings and remaining systems during further dismantling works performed in the controlled area.
• Easier access to systems in the controlled area designated for dismantling in the future.
• Improving of safety of transport and manipulation operations during the dismantling of remaining systems in the controlled area.
• Increase of transport routes capacity in the controlled area, eventually modification of communications outside the controlled area or creation of new transport corridors.
• Decrease of costs for monitoring & maintenance of equipment.
