| 7th November 1978 | beginning of the insertion of nuclear fuel into the Unit 1 reactor |
| 27th November 1978 | minimal controlled power reached at the Unit 1 reactor |
| 17th December 1978 | Unit 1 enters testing operation |
| 15th March 1980 | minimal controlled power reached at the Unit 2 reactor |
| 26th March 1980 | Unit 2 enters testing operation |
| 1991 | beginning of the small reconstruction |
| 1993 | completion of the small reconstruction |
| April 1996 | beginning of the gradual reconstruction |
| September 1999 | the SR government decides to shut the V1 NPP down |
| June 2000 | completion of the gradual reconstruction |
| 31st December 2006 | shutdown of Unit 1 |
| 31st December 2008 | shutdown of Unit 2 |
| 21st January 2011 | the remaining spent nuclear fuel is transported from the V1 NPP |
