85 pieces of fibre concrete containers (FCCs) were transported to and disposed of at the National Radwaste Repository in the first half of 2018.

In the first half of 2018, company JAVYS, a. s. transported and subsequently disposed of 85 pieces of fibre concrete containers (FCCs) with low-level radioactive waste at the National Radwaste Repository (NRR) of JAVYS, a.s. (Nuclear and Decommissioning Company). Containers´ dimensions are 1.7 x 1.7 x 1.7 m, while thickness of their wall is 0.1 m and they are disposed of in disposal boxes arranged in rows and double-rows of the repository.

National Radwaste Repository is a multi-barrier surface-type disposal facility intended for the final disposal of solid and solidified low-level radioactive waste produced during the operation and decommissioning of nuclear facilities, institutional radioactive waste (IRAW) and collected radioactive materials in the Slovak Republic. This is the final activity in the chain of management of these materials and their safe isolation from the environment.
