Company JAVYS and Faculty of Natural Sciences of Comenius University in Bratislava will cooperate in the field of scientific research and education. By signing the document on cooperation, both organizations have expressed their will to contribute to the development of a knowledge-based society.

JAVYS (Nuclear and Decommissioning Company) and the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Comenius University, Department of Nuclear Chemistry, have established a framework for mutually beneficial cooperation through the provision of mutual assistance, target-oriented to the areas of interest within the field of activities provided by both parties, for the purpose of qualified, efficient, flexible and coordinated solution of tasks of their own and societal interest, in particular, academic research on issues related to activities provided by company JAVYS, as well as in the field of education, science, research and training of science graduates for the needs of company JAVYS:

"The signing of the mutual cooperation document is the result of negotiations between JAVYS and the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Comenius University, whereby we have created a real space for deepening mutual cooperation in the training of professional personnel in the field of nuclear facilities decommissioning and training of new professionals in the nuclear power industry. We also want to cooperate with each other in scientific and grant projects in the field of scientific research and education within the scope of activities of both parties."

Within its professional capacities the Department of Nuclear Chemistry is ready to provide in particular:

  • Analyses of radiation-chemical processes, dosimetry systems, their application performance significance.
  • Modelling and simulation of environmental impact risks.
  • Setting environmental, social and management standards.  
  • Analyses of the effects of ionizing radiation on environmental elements.
  • Analyses of deep geological repository development for high-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel.
  • Participation in lectures, technical seminars.
  • Participation in the teaching process.

JAVYS, a. s., ensures activities in the field of back-end of the nuclear fuel cycle in the Slovak Republic. Its main activities include the decommissioning of the A1 and V1 nuclear power plants, management of radioactive waste, spent nuclear fuel, institutional radioactive waste and collected radioactive material within the territory of the Slovak Republic. Company JAVYS pays particular attention to safety, quality and environmental protection in all its activities.
