Ing. Miroslav Obert    Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of JAVYS, a. s.

Ing. Miroslav Obert is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors
& Chief Executive Officer of JAVYS, a. s.

He was born in 1961 in Hlohovec. In 1984, he graduated from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, majoring in Power Engineering with a focus on the production, distribution, and use of electricity and specialization in nuclear energy. Immediately following his graduation, he joined Slovenské elektrárne, where he gradually went through various technical and managerial positions in the operation of a Nuclear Power Plant.

In 2006, Mr. Obert started working at JAVYS, a.s., where he was responsible for the commercial operation of the V1 Nuclear Power Plant, for the termination of operation after its shutdown, and for preparing and starting the decommissioning process. During this period, he played a key role in high-level communications with the European Commission and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development regarding the allocation and drawing of BIDSF funds for the V1 NPP decommissioning projects.

Between 2008 to 2014, he held several top management positions in the company, including Member and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors. In 2014, he was appointed the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic. In this government role, he was responsible for national energy strategy, EU-funded projects, and departmental legislation.

In 2016, he returned to JAVYS, a.s., as the V1 NPP Decommissioning and PMU Division Director. From 2017 to 2020, he was the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Slovenská elektrizačná prenosová sústava, a.s., and later he worked at VUJE, a.s. Since 24 June 2024, he has been the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jadrová a vyraďovacia spoločnosť, a.s., where he currently also holds the position of the company´s CEO.
