Jadrová a vyraďovacia spoločnosť, a.s., (hereinafter referred to as “JAVYS”) has included a separate section dedicated to the so-called “stakeholders” in the programme of the international conference ECED 2019. The company has thereby emphasized the importance of communication with public representatives, which is paid great attention to.

At the beginning of this section, Chief Executive Officer of company JAVYS, a.s., JUDr. Vladimír Švigár, welcomed the participants. He spoke about the social importance of activities carried out by our company, the importance for the region in terms of employment and the sources of funds. Priorities are safety, health protection and environment.

Foreign conference participants attended the event as invited guests. Director of Decommissioning and Waste Division, Ms. Rebecca Tadesse, of the OECD-NEA introduced this organization, she focused on the Slovak representation in it and appreciated the work of Slovak experts.

Representative of a French company EDF-Cyclife, Mr. Christophe Maufrais, presented his company with operations in France, United Kingdom and Sweden. It is a company offering the same activities as JAVYS, a.s., and it is a competition for our company. Mr. Maufrais was asked a number of questions by the participants, focusing on capacities of RAW treatment using the incineration and re-melting, limits related to environment, relationship and cooperation with regions, etc.

Other presentations of company JAVYS, a.s. addressed the following topics:

• Economic necessity for company JAVYS, a.s.
• Current and planned RAW treatment projects.
• Presentation of possibilities of company JAVYS regarding provision of consulting projects abroad.
• Information on the upcoming process of the so-called Big EIA.
• Discharges into the environment, operational safety, comparison with other industrial polluters in Trnava self-governing region.

At the end of this section, the chairperson of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic, Ms. Marta Žiaková, appreciated high level of professionalism and progress achieved in the decommissioning activities and radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel management in Slovakia. "It would be a pity not to use the acquired expertise, skills and experience," she said.
