Company JAVYS, a. s., monitors the impact of nuclear facilities operated in Jaslovské Bohunice and Mochovce on working environment and environment in general all year round. Also, the summary report for the first half-year of 2019 demonstrates long-term trends of selected monitored values in the environment and in the vicinity of nuclear facilities and compares the status of measured values with defined authorized limits.
Based on the outcomes of the half-year report for 2019 summarized and discussed in September 2019, there was no radiation accident or no event with an impact on the working environment or environment in general during the first six months of 2019 and all nuclear facilities of company JAVYS, a. s. were operated in line with decisions of state and regulatory authorities.
In the first half-year of 2019, based on the optimization of works from the viewpoint of radiation protection the figures of the annual plan of collective equivalent dose (2,500 mSv) reached only 439 mSv, which represents the drawing at the level of 17.5%.
Maintaining low levels of individual dose rates as well as extremely low collective dose rates is demanding since the 2nd stage of V1 NPP decommissioning and 3rd and 4th stage of A1 NPP decommissioning include implementation of works and activities executed directly in the premises of the controlled area of both nuclear facilities and 600 to 650 workers of company JAVYS, a.s. and its sub-contractors participate in these works on a daily basis.
In the first half-year of 2019 discharges into the atmosphere and hydrosphere were also extremely low, at the level of hundredths to tenths of percent of the indicative values specified by the state and regulatory authority, Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic.
In the Slovak Republic, Jadrová a vyraďovacia spoločnosť, a. s. (JAVYS) provides activities in the area of back end of the nuclear energy. Its key activities include decommissioning of A1 and V1 nuclear power plants, radioactive waste management, spent nuclear fuel management, management of institutional radioactive waste and collected radioactive materials in the territory of the Slovak Republic. In all its activities, company JAVYS, a. s. pays particular attention to safety, quality and environment protection.
