In 2022, as part of the A1 and V1 nuclear power plants decommissioning process, company JAVYS, a.s., returned almost 2,000 tonnes of metallic waste from decommissioned materials into the recycling process.

Of the total volume, the largest quantity of metallic waste - up to 1,584 tonnes - was the iron scrap. The second waste with the largest volume, which was recycled, was stainless steel with a quantity of 273 tonnes.

Recycling of as much waste as possible, minimization of its production and environment protection are among the main goals of company JAVYS, a.s. Funds received by company JAVYS, a.s. from the recycling process are re-invested into the decommissioning process of nuclear facilities. This results in saving of funds from the state budget and, in case of the V1 NPP decommissioning, saving of funds from the European Union.
