Company JAVYS did not exceed any of the emission limits in 2022, and the quantities of pollutant emissions from air pollution sources and released greenhouse gases (CO2) in 2022 were comparable to previous years.

The quantities of pollutant emissions from air pollution sources and quantities of emitted greenhouse gases (CO2) for the year 2022 were comparable to previous years, while company JAVYS measures inactive emissions of pollutants released into the air with an automated measurement system even in operated nuclear facilities that are not categorized as sources of air pollution in accordance with the Act on Air Protection. In 2022, none of the emission limits of all monitored pollutants released into the air was exceeded. In 2022, company JAVYS released a very low quantity of pollutants into the air from the operation of medium sources of air pollution, therefore it was not obliged to pay a fee for the released emissions.

In the field of water management, during the accredited sampling and analysis of discharged waste water samples, company JAVYS complied with the limit values ​​of indicators of polluting substances, as well as the volume activity limits of radionuclides set in the permit for water discharge. In company JAVYS, the quality of drinking water is also regularly checked, while in 2022 eleven (11) minimal and two (2) complete analyses of drinking water were carried out. In all cases, the samples were analysed in accordance with the limit values, and the limit values ​​of indicators of polluting substances were not exceeded in waste water.

Production of other and hazardous waste in 2022 depended on the activities implemented during the decommissioning of the A1 and V1 nuclear power plants in Jaslovské Bohunice, during the reconstruction, construction and other works, while the total production of waste in 2022 was lower than in 2021.

The report for the year 2022 shows that the operation of nuclear facilities and decommissioning of nuclear power plants is carried out by company JAVYS in accordance with the Act on Environmental Impact Assessment, results of the post-project analysis and positive binding statements of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic issued to the individual permits.

The Environment Report, which summarizes comprehensive information on air protection, water management, chemicals management and handling, environmental impact assessment (EIA) processes and other environmental protection activities, is prepared by company JAVYS each year. It is sent to the state administration authorities in the field of environmental protection and to the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic (the press release contains only a brief summary).
