Jadrová a vyraďovacia spoločnosť, a.s. (JAVYS) successfully participated in the World Nuclear Exhibition 2025, which was held at Paris Nord Villepinte – Hall 6 in Paris. The event took place from 4 to 6 November and is one of the most important B2B meetings of the civil nuclear industry. Company JAVYS presented Slovak know-how in the decommissioning of nuclear facilities (V1, A1 nuclear power plants), in the management of radioactive waste (RAW) and spent nuclear fuel (SNF), and in the safe transport of nuclear materials.
For JAVYS, the WNE (WORLD NUCLEAR EXHIBITION) event is primarily an opportunity to establish useful contacts and communicate with a number of business partners. Face-to-face meetings enable us to better understand the specific needs of potential clients and partners and to openly discuss how JAVYS's experience can help them in practice. The aim of the discussions with potential business partners was to find common ground and share information so that we could prepare meaningful technical and project follow-ups.
The visit of the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to France, H.E. Ján Šoth, also contributed to international networking. With his participation, JAVYS representatives discussed the possibilities of developing Slovak-French cooperation in the areas of decommissioning, RAW management, and development of long-term storage and disposal infrastructure.
“WNE has once again confirmed that Slovakia's experience with decommissioning has a strong international resonance. We have been approached by partners from Europe and outside the EU – from inquiries to technical consultations to the preparation of joint projects," said Peter Gerhart, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Safety Division Director at JAVYS.
"Over the course of three days, we held many substantive discussions that helped us better understand our partners' priorities and expectations. The aim was to establish open communication and identify areas where we can bring added value – from sharing experiences to preparing specific expert inputs and proposals for commercial cooperation," says Michal Belianský, Head of Development Projects Unit.
Summary of the JAVYS's technical agenda at WNE 2025
JAVYS presented a comprehensive approach to the A1 NPP and V1 NPP decommissioning – from planning and implementation of dismantling, through radiation safety and decontamination, to material flow management. It also detailed the processing and storage/disposal of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel, including monitoring. A separate topic was the safe transport of nuclear materials, with an emphasis on legislation, safety standards, and international coordination. In addition to the presentations, we held open technical discussions and shared comparable data and experiences so that partners could set up their own projects more quickly and safely.
