Steam Generator

Heated steam advances from reactor through the main gate armatures to steam generators — heat exchangers. There, hot water flows through thin heat exchanging pipes, which are dipped in water of the secondary circuit. Water pressure in the secondary circuit is lower than that in the primary circuit and water in steam generator changes into saturated steam. Cooled water of the primary circuit turns from steam generators back to reactor through the main circulation pumps, which maintain water circulation in the primary circuit. Steam from steam generator flows through steam piping into turbine. In the secondary circuit, thermal energy of the steam generated in steam generators changes into mechanical energy, and from it into electric energy in turbo generators.
