The following notice refers to goods, works and services to be procured through tendering for a project financed by the Bohunice International Decommissioning Support Fund (BIDSF) which is administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Potential tenderers desiring additional information on the procurement in question or the project in general should contact the Project Management Unit (PMU) and not the EBRD.

This notice updates the General Procurement Notice for this project published on the EBRD's Web site and in the Slovak Newspapers Hospodárske noviny on 15th February 2007.

The Bohunice International Decommissioning Support Fund (BIDSF), administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, was established in November 2001 to finance and/or co-finance selected projects over a period of approximately 10 years amounting to approximately EUR 192 million. Jadrová a vyraďovacia spoločnosť, a.s. (JAVYS) is undertaking a programme of pre-decommissioning projects and measures in the energy sector which are consequential to the decision taken by the Slovak Republic to final shutdown Bohunice Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2 (Bohunice V1 NPP) to be financed and/or co-financed with the resources of the Fund. Approval of the project financing is subject to the decision of the Assembly of Contributors of the BIDSF. The Assembly may modify the contents of the projects. The proposed pre-decommissioning support projects would require the procurement of the following goods, works, services, including consultancy services, contracts in the following areas over the next twelve months:

  • Physical modifications to the Plant and plant systems;
  • Erection of new buildings and systems;
  • Development of studies oriented to RAW management;
  • Waste management projects.

The PMU, which ensures that the pre-decommissioning support projects are completed on time, with a budget within limit and within defined quality standards, will conduct the tendering process.

Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in the first quarter 2008.

Tendering will be open to firms that qualify under the Procurement Policies and Rules of the EBRD and the BIDSF. *
